In an 18" high kiln (JD2918-3), there are 6 elements.
In a 27" high kiln (JD2927-3), there are 9 elements.
In a 36" high kiln (JD2936-3), there are 12 elements.
In a 45" high kiln (JD2945-3), there are 15 elements.
If you have a powered bottom, you will need 2 more elements.
All elements are of equal resistance (ohms).
When changing elements, you should look at your element terminals and consider changing all of the hardware if there is any oxidation. You will get a 50% discount on the terminal hardware if you order a complete set of elements. The terminal hardware set for this kiln is here.
