How to Unpack Your L&L Easy-Load Kiln
This video demonstrates the proper unpacking procedure for the L&L Easy-Load Kiln, ensuring a safe and efficient setup from the moment your kiln arrives.
1. Removing the Crate
Your kiln arrives in a heavy-duty wooden crate. Begin by removing the plywood top and side panels, then fully dismantle the wooden frame. Once exposed, remove the plastic wrap surrounding the kiln.
2. Freeing the Kiln From the Pallet
Unbolt the kiln from the shipping pallet. With the bolts removed, position a forklift under the kiln—making sure the forks are centered, straight, and placed on either side of the bypass collection box.
Lift the kiln slowly and slide the pallet out from underneath. Lower the kiln gently into its installation area.
- A forklift is required for lifting the kiln from the pallet.
- After it is on the ground, you may move it using a pallet jack under the metal frame.
3. Opening the Kiln and Removing Internal Shipping Materials
Remove the two door-shipping brackets and open the kiln. Inside, you’ll find several boxed components and an internal shipping frame.
Carefully remove the frame, all boxes, and any remaining packing materials. Be sure to remove every red plastic element clip, as these are for shipping only.
4. Installing the Door Latches
Locate the door latches and attach them to both the kiln body and the door using the included bolts and washers.
After installation:
- Confirm the door seals properly.
- Check that the disconnect safety switch engages when the door closes.
5. Installing the Manual Venting Plug
Locate the manual venting plug from your parts boxes and insert it into the top of the kiln.
You’ve now successfully unpacked your L&L Easy-Load Kiln.
