Multi-Zone Control for Even Kiln Heating

Benefits of Multi-Zone Control for Even Kiln Heating

Zone control for even firing

How Multi-Zone Control Prevents Uneven Firing

  • Many kilns have one thermocouple to control all elements (single zone).
  • In single-zone kilns, the elements are usually arranged by power output from top to bottom. This helps control temperature differences.
  • In L&L's multi-zone kilns, there are multiple thermocouples to control the different elements in each section.

Achieve Consistent Results even as the elements age

  • With single-zone kilns, there is no way to adjust for varying load conditions in an unevenly loaded kiln.
  • As graded elements get older, their power output changes at different rates. This happens because of their different designs, which results in a loss of accuracy.
  • L&L's Dynamic Zone Control handles these conditions automatically.

Optimize Kiln Performance for Art, Schools, and Industry

  • The DynaTrol and Genesis 2.0 feature Dynamic Zone Control.
  • The control measures temperatures at the bottom, middle, and top of the kiln. It automatically adjusts the heat from top to bottom.
  • Kiln temperatures are automatically evened out as a result.
